Real Estate in Regina Off to a Good Start in January

Hello everyone,

We are officially 1/10th of the way into the year. January is over and the beginning of February has been painfully, painfully cold. But real estate in Regina seems to have warmed up a bit, with January being a fairly decent month for home sales. Government officials and lobbyist are starting to put a lot of pressure on CMHC to adjust the stress test rules, as we have clear evidence that for many local markets, 2018 was the worst year for home sales in decades.

To give you a better idea of what price range homes are selling in, this is the Regina City Price range report. As you can see, the majority of homes selling are priced under $300,000. It’s very important to be accurate in your list price and have your expectations in the right place if you are listing your home soon. Home sales can take longer than what we have seen in the past and may take twice as long if they are valued over 500K unless your list price is aggressive.
